Application of Gaussian Processes in Uncertainty Quantification and Optimization
Engineers always knew that designed objects cannot be manufactured in a full accordance
with a project. Nevertheless, progress in numerical methods and growing availability of
high-performance computers are the factors which allowed engineers to incorporate the
uncertainties and their lack of knowledge in a design process.
In this presentation, we will show how to utilize the Gaussian Processes in a process of
uncertainty quantification and later optimisation. The method is particularly useful in
solving computationally and time demanding tasks.
