The overall objectives of the Project is to overcome technological barriers and overcome the technological gap that is an obstacle in the way to develop the integrated mobile systems to respond to terrorist thread and/or crisis. Due to its cross-disciplinary nature the project enables the development of new technologies as well as new methods of research in the following areas science: mobile robotics, aerial objects, telecommunications, information technology, materials, and sensors.

The system demonstrator which will be used to verify the project achievements will be built. These achievements include: new technologies, scientific and technical solutions. The high level of the solutions developed in the project will encourage Polish industry to implement new technologies resulting from the Project.

Project's main objective will be achieved in specific work packages, integrating the latest generation of IT and telecommunications systems with innovative mechanical designs in order to apply them in the mobile robotics. The most important milestones are::

  • set of mobile robots (and UAV) used to support the evacuation of people, removal or neutralization of dangerous/hazardous materials, overpower attackers;
  • integrated command center for an effective intervention management with special emphasis on efficient telecommunications.
  • detector modules for the detection and monitoring of terrorist threats and threats of disasters,
  • simulator, which will be used to verify the design of mobile robots (at the time of the project and after its completion), and after the implementation of the system, will also be used for training of the operators both of robots and other elements of the system.

The task of building a simulator is given to the Department of Automation and Aeronautical Systems, Warsaw University of Technology.

Added value of the project, which goes beyond the typical research and technical issues, will be to develop specific procedures and patterns for application of the developed crisis managing system.

The Project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund within the framework of the Innovative Economy Operational Programme 2007-2013
